Install your eSIM
Install your eSIM using a Wi-Fi connection, ideally just before you leave: depending on the data plan, validity starts either at installation or upon first connection in the destination. Upon arrival, activate the eSIM profile for mobile data and data roaming.
- 1Open Settings › Mobile Data › Add eSIM.
- 2Choose "Use QR Code" and scan the QR code of your order. No second screen? Tap "Enter Details Manually" and paste the activation code.
- 3Name the new line "Travel".
- 4Upon arrival, choose "Travel" for mobile data and enable data roaming on this line.
- 5Your regular line remains active for calls and texts. Disable its data roaming.
Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi before you leave. Do not delete it afterwards: the QR code is usually used only once.

Does the eSIM Thailand work throughout the entire territory?
Yes, coverage relies on the local mobile networks of Thailand. Very remote areas may have less reliable service.
When does my Thailand data plan start counting down?
For most data plans, validity starts with the first connection to a network at your destination, not at purchase: you can install the eSIM at home over Wi-Fi before you leave. Some start upon installation: it's written on the data plan card, just above the price.
Can I continue to receive my usual SMS while traveling in Thailand?
Yes. The eSIM manages only data: keep your main line active for calls and SMS by disabling its mobile data to avoid roaming charges.
